Web Conferencing IP Address Range Change on March 2, 2013
As previously announced, we have scheduled maintenance to renumbering the IP addresses of our North American hosted web conferencing services on March 2, 2013. This maintenance is now complete.
As a result of the March 2 maintenance, intervention may be required on your part if:
- You have restricted your network to only allow for our services specified by IP address/IP range. In such cases, please work with your network administrator to allow access to the new (69.196.224.0/19) IP range. Please see Knowledge Base Article 2806 for more details on configuring your network prior to our March 2 maintenance.
- If you have Web Conferencing or Elluminate Live! integrated into another system such as a LMS/CMS or Portal, you may be required to restart your LMS/CMS after we complete the renumbering. To help you identify if it is necessary to restart your CMS after our maintenance is complete, please refer to the matrix in Knowledge Base Article 2805.
Web Conferencing 11 and Elluminate Live! Customers only:
In addition to IP renumbering, we applied changes to our network infrastructure to improve the distribution of the Web Conferencing version 11 and Elluminate Live! JAR file download required to launch Web Conferencing 11 and Elluminate Live! sessions. This change moved the download of these files to the new IP range: 69.196.224.0/19. This change had no impact on v12 users.
As a result of this change, Elluminate Live! and Web Conferencing 11 customers will be required to re-download the JAR files necessary to launch these products, and may be prompted to “trust” applications distributed by “na-downloads.elluminate.com”.
These JAR files are downloaded over the standard HTTP/HTTPS protocols and we do not expect there to be any complications with this change. However, if your institution does limit traffic through strict network rules, it may be necessary for this IP address range to be added.

- After IP Renumbering on March 2, 2013 the following error occurs when accessing Web Conferencing or Elluminate Live! from Blackboard Course Management System: Elluminate Live! Scheduling Server Configuration Error Connection refused Please contact the system administrator. See Article 2814.

- After IP Renumbering on March 2, 2013 the following error occurs when launching SAS applets: Error : <IO Error> Could not perform I/O over the server connection. [An error occurred while sending the request over the server connection. Connection timed out: connect {java.net.ConnectException} [Service: https://sas.elluminate.com/site/internal/dataservice][State: ERROR]] {java.io.IOException}. See Article 2816.
